The soft, golden sunset light, vivid citrus hues and bohemian vibe in this bridal styled shoot from ShootAnyAngle Wedding Photography come together to make a gorgeous source of inspiration for brides who want to incorporate vibrant colors in their wedding plans. The yellow lace appliqués on the dress are really unique, and the brilliant florals pack a punch without overwhelming the overall romantic, free-spirited look!
A sunset bridal inspiration shoot with a bohemian vibe and bright colors in California
When coming up with a theme for our styled shoot, I wanted to explore an area that I find brides (including myself!) get a little spooked by – bright colors! Personally, I wear more natural colors, but Mother Nature has many “natural” colors that are extremely vibrant, and we tend to forget about those! So, we used bright, warm colors when choosing our flowers (which we got at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods), and I assembled them by hand.
To add a unique feel to the dress, I took an old lace maxi that I already had, added the sweetheart neckline, and manually cut out appliqués from yellow lace to then sew on all by hand. It was a lot of work, but the overall look is worth it! It gave just enough of a punch of color while keeping the overall look bridal.
For a backdrop, we turned to nature and the warm colors produced at sunset. We shot at Russian Ridge in Portola Valley, and the surrounding areas. It was a perfect backdrop for the look we were going for.
For tablescapes, we decided on a picnic feel while keeping the bright colors in the flowers and plates. To go with a more bohemian theme, we chose a “naked” layered cake. – Angela
