Courtney and Craig’s closest friends and family gathered to celebrate their nuptials at Los Willows in an energetic wedding that included a boat and car ceremony entrance and a flash mob during the reception! Craig is a soccer coach originally from England, and Courtney is a California native and a professional dancer. They chose a vintage look and an elegant sage and white color palette, and Justice Photography captured their day!

I consider myself more of a natural girl and my fiancé and I are are a pretty down to earth couple. For us, natural colors – greens, tans, grays, and whites – were the only colors for us. Our venue was beautiful in its own right, so we wanted to simply highlight the natural beauty of the place. Our florist added some other textural colors including blush and purple tones and all together it was a beautiful and effortless aesthetic!
Initially I wanted to be a DIY bride with a handmade/vintage look and so I reused old wine bottles, I painted things, collected picture frames, decorated signs, handmade table numbers and in general incorporated a lot of the decor we have in our home. I wanted the decor to represent us in a personal way, so what better than to use and build upon our own home aesthetic. Furthermore we used lace and burlap all over to tie in our natural colors with a touch of rustic elegance. Later on, I realized just how time consuming being a DIY bride was and so luckily my amazing florist, Kim Pines, was able to help with finishing touches – chic votives and vases for centerpieces, decorative welcome signs and beautiful flowers to complement our personal decor. And I can’t forget to mention that a lot of the decor was provided courtesy of Los Willows’ amazing selection – table linens, white Chiavari chairs, candelabras, easels, aisle hooks as well as the vintage ceremony arch.
I would have to say the entire processional was the most memorable part for me. We used all of our favorite songs for the bridal party and my entrance so of course they evoked heaps of emotion. Not to mention I arrived with my dad via a boat from across a lake! The lighting and the breeze at that moment was just so calm and it was the ultimate time for reflection and appreciation for what I was about to do – marry the love of my life. Walking down the aisle and seeing my fiancé so emotional (and very dapper) was the final beautiful moment that I will always remember.
If I have to pick one hugely important detail it would have to be my flowers. Initially I believed that because my venue was so beautiful I might not need that many flowers. But my friend and florist, Kim Pines truly made this venue OURS with how she was able to create the centerpieces, aisle decor, bouquets/boutonnières and just the abundant use of flower details all throughout the venue. There were beautiful flower arrangements everywhere that day, big and small! I have always loved baby’s breath and understated flowers – everything I saw that day was perfectly dainty, incorporated natural colors and plant elements, and had just the right amount of effortless quality. I really do think the flowers helped to make this wedding one that was distinctly ours, and for that detail in particular I am so grateful! – Courtney
