Country Vintage Barn Wedding

Rustic Barn Wedding by Style & Story Creative on ArtfullyWed.com

Lynsey and Andrew had a guest list of more than 600 people for their summer wedding at his parents' home, but all of their handmade, thoughtful details made the celebration seem incredibly intimate and special! Style & Story Creative captured Lynsey and Andrew's country vintage wedding.

From the moment that Andrew and I were engaged, we knew that we wanted to have our reception at Andrew's parents' home. Andrew's father and family had built a barn on the property six years prior and it seemed like the perfect venue for our vintage inspired wedding. Once the venue had been decided everything seemed to flow into place. The ceremony was held at my family church. It was important to us that the natural beauty and, what the location represented in our faith, shine through in our ceremony. And it did just that. Even with the sweltering heat that was brought on with the day, our full Catholic Mass ceremony was a beautiful celebration of the sacramental vow that Andrew and I took. Since Andrew and I both have very large families, the idea of having a small wedding was out of the question. With a guest list that rounded out at over 600 people, turning our barn into a wedding venue was not an easy task. We made this happen by focusing on details that would create the country vintage feel we were seeking. From centerpieces created from repurposed barn siding, to burlap signs and table runners, a great deal of the day's elements were made by Andrew and I, with the help of supportive friends and family. Old whiskey barrels, vintage blue mason jars, antique chandeliers, and hand painted wooden signs all came together to create the country vintage atmosphere we dreamed of. Possibly the most unique detail of our day was the 1923 Buick pick-up truck that served as a focal point of the outdoor space. Covered with vintage frames filled with wedding photos of our parents and grandparents, the truck served as a reminder and symbol of the love that continues to grow in our family. Our big day was completed with guests sending off floating Chinese lanterns into the night sky. Sharing our personal love and interest for the lanterns with our guests was an incredible feeling. Getting to see the joy that they brought is something Andrew and I will surely never forget. – Lynsey
