Rainy Mountain Wedding at Beaver Creek

Charlotte and Jody, a couple from Florida, braved the cold, hail and sleet with smiles on their faces for their wedding at the Beaver Creek Wedding Deck! Guests cuddled under blankets and umbrellas while the two exchanged vows before heading to an intimate and cozy candlelit reception at a restaurant in the Beaver Creek Village. Bergreen Photography captured their special day!

The Proposal

We were on vacation in Whistler. After a long day of skiing, we went for a walk to explore the village before dinner. It was cold out and snowing, and in the middle of the village street, Jody got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

About the Wedding

We knew we wanted a small destination wedding that was more about the marriage than the actual event. We love the mountains and wanted to pick a place our guests could get to with too much trouble. We thought Colorado fit the bill, and when we saw the wedding deck, we fell in love with it. From there, we wanted to keep things simple because the view was so amazing.

The most important thing to us was not to get too carried away, but to try to enjoy the process and focus on our marriage, not material things. At the same time, it was important to us that our guests felt comfortable, so we did things like purchasing blankets guests could use on the mountain and had a hot chocolate bar waiting for them once they got down.

Favorite Moments

One of our favorite parts of the day was riding the gondola down the mountain together after the ceremony. It was surreal, beautiful, and we were officially married!
