Genevieve and Tyler tied the knot at Sierra Vista with the Blue Ridge mountains in the background and a ukulele version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in the air! Their spring wedding featured one of Pantone's colors of the year, Rose Quartz, and beautiful flowers that complemented the bride's gorgeous ruffled dress. Megan Vaughan Photography captured their day!
A rose quartz mountain wedding in Forest, VA
A hundred people told me the wedding would go by in a flash, a blur. And it did, but at the same time, I remember every detail, every person, every song, every sweet congratulation. The day was sheer perfection. From the delicate bouqets, to the soft lighting, to the cake, to the wine, to the view (oh boy, that view!!). It was all surreal how perfect it really was. Our beautiful friends sang to us, toasted to us, held us and prayed with us. There were acoustic guitar performances, my husband sang to me my most favorite Eric Clapton song, the groomsman put on a wildly funny performance, my dad and his 9 brothers got up and serenaded me with “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,” and Tyler and I drank wine out of our family's wedding chalice passed down 4 generations from Germany. We cut our 5-tier wedding cake and I surprised Tyler with his Crossfit-themed groom's cake, both were great hits!
With the sun dipping down behind our beloved mountains, throwing pink and orange and fire red across the sky, Tyler twirled me and my dress came alive around me. It was magic. We danced and laughed and ate the night away. I talked to friends I've known my whole life and met new ones, too! We kissed our family and thanked our friends and as they all lined up for our final send off into the night they lit beautiful sparklers to line our aisle way. Apparently my dress even caught on fire and someone stomped it out, but I never even noticed (thank you mystery firefighter!). I was in a state of pure bliss at that point. In summary, our wedding day was nothing short of a fairytale. If I could go back and do it all over again, I wouldn't change a single thing. – Genevieve
