Intimate Lavender Wine Country Nuptials

Diana and Eric’s September wedding at Cornerstone Cellars was a lovely and intimate celebration featuring shades of lavender. Zelo Photography captured their day and L’Relyea Events planned all of the beautiful details! From L’Relyea Events: “After braving two years of a long distance relationship, Diana and Eric wanted to create a laidback and fun wedding for everyone to enjoy. With family and friends flying in from all over the country and a few international visitors as well, they wanted their wedding to be held in a fun destination for travelers, with flexibility to add personal touches to the venue. With its beautiful scenery and open grounds, they knew Cornerstone was the perfect location. Determined to “plan a wedding that felt uniquely like ‘us,'” bright colors and open spaces were a must for the bride and groom. The bridesmaids wore beautiful lavender dresses, which were accompanied by the vibrant pinks, luscious greens, deep purples and creams of the floral displays, which were also incorporated throughout the venue. Guests were welcomed to the ceremony area with a beautiful view of the bridal arch, which donned large and bright flowers in front of a beautiful pond and lush greenery. After the ceremony, guests were treated to delicious appetizers and drinks before moving to the reception area for dinner. The wedding was sealed off with a night of joyful dancing and mingling with loved ones. Guests documented this momentous occasion by taking fun photos in the photo booth.”

We are both from California but met in business school out in Philadelphia. After graduation, Diana took a job in New York, while Eric went back to California to work in Los Angeles. The cross-country long distance was tough, but both of us made valiant efforts to see each other at least once, if not twice, a month over the two years we were living apart. Needless to say, we each racked up our fair share of airplane miles, but it was all worth it.

Since we had friends and family flying in from all over the country (including some international visitors), we wanted to host our wedding somewhere that would make for a fun destination for travelers. Diana is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and Eric has been a longtime fan of wine country, so we decided to host our wedding in Sonoma. We really wanted a venue that was laid back with the rustic Sonoma feel, but that would really allow us to plan a wedding that felt uniquely like “us.” Cornerstone Sonoma offered just that – its beautiful grounds are so much fun to wander as is, but the venue also provided a great canvas for us to design our perfect wedding that reflected both of our personalities and create the vibe that we wanted. Of all the venues that we looked at, Cornerstone allowed the most flexibility to add personal touches. We wanted to make sure that every single one of our guests would have a great time and designed every detail through that lens.

We had so much fun planning the wedding because we were really focused on making sure every little aspect reflected us and emphasized what was important to us. We were lucky to have worked with the best vendors imaginable which made the process as smooth as possible.
