I always love seeing how a wedding pro envisions her own wedding day, and Amanda of everyone deserves flowers. created a stunning celebration filled with glam details and gorgeous white peonies! Casey Albright Photography captured Amanda and Matthew's sweet wedding day! From the bride: “Being a coordinator and florist for many years, I've seen styles change and wedding fads come and go. The most important thing for me when styling our wedding was to make decisions that would remain timeless. With a large love for peony, a spring wedding was a must! To achieve the timeless look I was envisioning, the color palette was kept light and neutral, with the bridesmaids wearing muted ivory sequin dresses and florals consisting of white and blush tones with eucalyptus. The groomsmen wore blue, which was the only pop of color incorporated, and I chose to have a large bow added to the back of my satin gown to personalize the style. With the help of a credible team of vendors, classic, romantic styling swept the floors of John Wright Restaurant as we said I do's on the lawn overlooking the water.”

My father passed before being able to walk me down the aisle, so I asked my nephew, who we refer to as the man of the family now, to give me away. The walk was emotional, and Matt's reaction at the end of the aisle is everything I hoped it would be. Seeing him with happy tears in his eyes allowed every bit of nervousness to leave my body and I was able to completely be in the moment. Our officiant thought it would be nice to share a little of our relationship story and we decided to write and recite our own vows to one another, both of which had a tad of humor to them. By choosing this, we were able to engage with our guests and allow them to be part of our history. The icing on the cake was when Matt called Piper up to vow his love to her. Unbeknownst to be, he got her an engraved necklace and presented it to her. I felt more in love with him in that moment than ever before. To complete the ceremony, we incorporated a “love lock” tradition. We each, Piper included, had locks which we clasped together to represent our joining family. We then walked down to the water and threw away the keys, ensuring those locks remained bound just as our family would.
We wanted our guests to leave with an experience of our love and relationship, not just another wedding. We took time to incorporate things we are passionate about and to make the day a representation of us. Our dog wasn't able to attend the wedding, but we made sure to incorporate our love for him. We showcased his handsomeness with a watercolor print and offered our guests homemade “Pawty Favors,” courtesy of Apollo. Since I am a huge Elvis fan, I walked down the aisle to his song “Today, Tomorrow, and Forever” from my favorite movie, Viva Las Vegas, and incorporated Elvis and Priscilla's wedding photo in the styled cocktail seating area. Our friends and family are such a large part of our lives, so we showcased a little of their personalities on a “Meet the Wedding Party” sign.
We skipped some of the old wedding traditions, like the garter and bouquet toss, to be able to spend more time with our guests. My mother and I also choreographed a dance and surprised everyone, my groom included. Then, we knew a party night wouldn't be complete without a McDonald's run, so our guests were treated to a late night snack as they left the venue.
Finding someone who not only loved me but also loved my daughter wholeheartedly was everything I could ever ask for. Just knowing Matt chose to spend his life with us makes me the luckiest girl in the world. Today, we not only have solidified that love, but we shared that with our closest friends and family and created memories that will last a lifetime.
