A Sweet Southern Wedding Featuring A Bold Burgundy, Navy, and Blush Color Palette

Candace and Brach's sweet southern wedding took place on 4-20-19 at The Grandeur House in Little Rock, Arkansas.

An Interview With The Bride

Q. How did you meet?
We met at a Halloween party in 2010. He approached me and we made small talk and then the next day he reached out to me on social media. We learned that we had a lot of the same mutual friends, so I was really surprised we didn't meet sooner!
Within the next couple of weeks we went on our first date and the rest is history!

Q. How did he propose?
He proposed on our 7th dating anniversary after dinner at Samantha's Tap Room in Little Rock. We went walking to see some Christmas lights outside and it was pretty cold out. He offered me his coat and I wore it as we went walking. After a while, he told me to reach into the pocket of his coat. That's when I felt the ring box. I pulled it out, opened it, and saw the ring. Then he asked me to be his wife. It was the sweetest!

Q. Describe your wedding design and style.
I would describe my wedding design and style as simple. Lol. I'm honestly not overly picky. I just didn't want things to look too “busy”. I believe less is more sometimes, and I felt like The Grandeur House was already so beautiful as is that it didn't need much to add to it. I love natural light which is why I chose the venue that I chose. All the windows in that venue just took my breath away. I liked being able to see all the trees and greenery outside, and that's one of the reason's I wanted mostly greenery in the venue. I tried to tie it together a little bit. I also LOVE the color burgundy which is why I chose that for my bridesmaid dress color. I know that color is mostly used in fall and winter weddings so I tried to use it in a way that looked more like spring by incorporating blush in other areas throughout the wedding in hopes that it would brighten things up.

Q. Did anything interesting or funny happen that you would like to share about your wedding day?
Honestly, this may sound boring, but no. Haha. Nothing too crazy or interesting happened. The only thing I can think of is getting my husband's grandma out on the dance floor. Once we got her dancing, she didn't stop. It was so funny and awesome to see her out there having a good time! We loved that.

Q. What is your favorite memory of your wedding day?
My favorite memory was the first look. I HIGHLY recommend this for any engaged couples. That's when it got “real” for me. All of my emotions that I had held together that whole day just let go and I remember just being so incredibly thankful and happy. AND CRYING. Haha. Being able to see one another for the first time will forever be my favorite moment.

Q. What was your biggest worry and how did you overcome it?
To be honest, I didn't have many worries. I knew I had such a great team of vendors that everything was going to go great. The only thing I can remember worrying about during the reception was if people were enjoying themselves or not. I'm a people pleaser, and I remember checking to see if people were having a good time. I had to remind myself that this was my day and that I needed to enjoy the moment instead of worrying about others.
