Summer NYC Engagement by Rebecca Yale Portraits

Summer e-shoot in Manhattan

Miriam and Jesse spent a perfect summer day in New York City for their engagement session with Rebecca Yale Portraits. They started at the Cloisters, then moved down to a cozy wine bar in the West Village before finally heading to The Highline!

Jesse and I met through a mutual friend about five years ago. Though it took us several attempts to make it to our first date, about 8 apartments and a graduate degree later, we are finally in the same place. Jesse and I are a very comfy, casual couple, and we don't fancy up too often. So when he asked if I'd like to go away to a B&B for a weekend rather suddenly, it was pretty much a giveaway that something was happening. After making the reservation, however, he realized it was a theme based resort, “Mm..so … have you ever seen the movie Gone with the Wind?” Haha! We watched the movie that night, and at the beautiful property – with period costume-clad staff and the yummiest food and drink he proposed. How it happened or what was said, we will never agree; I was much too excited (hand flapping and giggling), and he was much too nervous to remember. But we had a most delicious time and have been laughing about it since. – Miriam
