A nautical wedding with DIY details in Lancaster, VA
Lindsay and Zach had a lot of mutual friends in college, but they didn't meet until her senior year. It took four years of sharing the same social circles and living seven houses down from each other before they finally connected! He would walk his dog, Chessie, to the beach at the end of their road. When he would walk by, even though she hadn't met him yet, Lindsay would see him and say, “There goes my dream man.” Lindsay says because of him, she now truly believes in love at first sight. Their nautical wedding involved a lot of DIY details and love from friends and family. Her mom made the ties and pocket squares, as well as the dogs' tie and flower wreath. Lindsay painted the signs and one of her bridesmaids did the art for them. The bride also designed all the printed materials and assembled the invitations and save the dates, and she and some of the bridesmaids assembled the programs and the BBQ sauce. Lindsay's dad made the sauce and bottled it for favors. Zach and Lindsay also made the doors that were at the ceremony site. All of the flower arrangements were DIY, too! Lindsay says she is forever thankful to all the friends and family that played a huge role in bringing all of these things together on her DIY budget. She really could not have done it without their help. Wolfcrest Photography captured their celebration at the Bel Air Mansion.
