“Our team was originally inspired by the fleeting pear blossoms on the property of Bilston Creek Farm, located in Metchosin, BC Canada. To us, the blossoms suggest a soft, romantic, and pretty aesthetic, which then dictated the rest of our florals and decor pieces. The particular tree featured with our sweetheart table is a Winter Nellis pear tree and is believed to be the oldest one in the country! These beautiful blossoms only last for about two weeks, so we had to plan our shoot timing carefully. Playing off the blossoms' pale pink and white tones, we wanted to bring some pops of French blue into the decor, always mindful of the overall romantic theme.

The ceremony site tree is a giant Arbutus tree also located on the farm property, which adds a touch of the west coast to our romantic theme. These trees are abundant on Vancouver Island and we wanted to connect the shoot to this special part of the world by featuring this massive example.

Bilston Creek Farm is also home to a 170-year-old apple tree orchard, as well as fields of lavender – a perfect wedding venue!”

What You’ll Need

• Invitation
• Scissors
• Paper doily
• String
• Paper heart

Getting Started

I printed my own invitation on cardstock paper making them 4 ½” x 6” and used a 9 ½” paper doily. The size can vary depending on the size of doily you have and if you want there to be a space when folded so you can see more of the invitation or not. 

Step One

You will first cut the top and bottom off the doily to fit the size of your invitation.  

Step Two

Next, you will fold in each side of the paper doily.

Step Three

You will then cut some of your string to wrap around the invitation. I cut a 2” heart out of the same cardstock as the invitation and used a hole punch in the corner. Attach the heart to the string and tie a bow. 

All Done!

Your invitation is all finished. You can personalize it by adding both your initials to the paper heart or add your wedding date and your guests can use that as a save the date reminder.

“If a Jane Austen novel could meet modern times, this would describe Amanda and Austin's wedding at Grace Valley Farms. Amanda and Austin had an intimate fun day celebrated with close family and friends. Amanda was the most stunning bride wearing a fitted sweetheart gown with a lace appliqué. It was gorgeous. To top it off she wore soft greenery and floral crown. She truly was something out of a fairy tale. These two shared an intimate prayer before the ceremony. Wearing her grandmother's handkerchief and jewelry, she carried the love legacies before her down the aisle to marry her Austin. The rest of the evening was spent celebrating and dancing. The couple shared a first dance to Kenny Chesney's Me and You. A perfect day for a perfect couple! Congratulations to Amanda and Austin on your marriage!”

“Amy and Andrew met through mutual friends, but they almost didn’t meet because Andrew was about to head overseas the next day, but decided to come out for the night anyway. 

Andrew organized the proposal in advance, with some help from some friends. They were all heading overseas to Hong Kong for a wedding and decided to extend their trip to a few other places. So, when they were at the Fushimi Inari temple in Kyoto, Japan, he bent the knee and popped the question!

Amy was never a traditional person, she is covered in tattoos and white was never for her, so she chose elements from dresses she liked and worked with the designer to make her dream, modern black dress. 

Their wedding was styled by the amazing wedding stylist Anna Wang, creating a palette full of blacks, reds and orange-glow candles. “

What You’ll Need

For the thank you cards, here is a list of the supplies you will need. 

• Brown cardstock
• Small paper doily
• Scissors
• Glue
• String
• Black pen

Step 1: Start Cutting & Gluing

To start you will want to cut a portion of the top of the doily off so you have a nice straight edge. You then will want to cut your cardstock an appropriate size to match the size of doily you are using. You will fold your cardstock in half and then glue the doily to the top edge of the card. 

Step 2: Create a Bow String Tie

I added a small piece of string starting on the inside at the top, brought it around to the front and then crossed it over and wrapped it around once more. On the front tie a nice small bow to secure the string. 

Step 3: Write Your Thank You’s

Next, I used the black pen to handwrite ‘thank you’ on the front. It’s easy to do and adds another personal touch that won’t go unnoticed.  For each guest, you can now personalize a simple note inside to show your appreciation.

“For this charming southern styled shoot, we chose the Inn at Fontanel which is nestled in the countryside of White Creek, Tennessee. This venue is something straight out of a Southern Living magazine. With a high-end cottagey feel, it would definitely get Johanna Gaines stamp of approval!

The day of the shoot was perfection. A warm, sunny day, which made for the most perfect golden hour that set over the mountains. It was heavenly. From the bridesmaids and flower girl to our bride, we had so much fun frolicking in the fields and around the inn. Our color palette was soft blushes, corals, and pops of yellow. The handcrafted jewelry only accented our bride and bridesmaids.

The most exciting part of this shoot was the dogs!! All of us are serious dog lovers and we invited every cute pup we knew! Needless to say, wedding dresses and cute pups go hand-in-hand.“

“Katy and Ben met during a night out whilst at university. They are best of friends who share the same love to have fun and spend their days laughing like they just met!

They decided to have an intimate wedding with a romantic and laid-back feel. They chose a venue in Cheshire, as this was where Katy grew up. It was also nice and close to the airport for Ben’s family who was traveling from Switzerland for the wedding. 

The stunning vintage cream Land Rover used at their wedding was actually a surprised arranged by Katy, as she arranged a surprise pick up to take the groomsmen to the venue. She also surprised Ben with a new Tom Ford aftershave so that they could always be reminded of their wedding day by the scent. 

The wedding colour palette included an elegant mix of ivory, blush, creams, and greenery. This tied in with their gorgeous floral arrangements and their stunning 3 tier cake with roses and peonies. “

Add An Activity Coloring Book

Coloring never gets old, even for the adults! I made up a little booklet of coloring pages, a little tic tac toe game, and maze. I found some wedding themed coloring pages and games online and then just printed them myself. Cut them all the same size and staple together. 

 I also included a few crayons wrapped with some string to keep them tidy.

Don’t Forget To Add The…

• Playdoh. You can find small containers at any craft store. 
• Stickers. Include some fun ones for girls and boys. 

By putting them inside a nice white paper bag your also providing another canvas for them to decorate with their crayons and stickers. 

These little bags are so simple and fun to make. The parents will thank you and really appreciate the extra touch of providing some much-needed entertainment for their little ones.

Because what was once something you’d only see on the red carpet, is now something you can learn to do on yourself at home. There’s a reason this technique has been so popular online, it’s easier than it looks! 

The cut crease has been wildly popular on Instagram, and to those new to makeup, it might seem far too difficult a look to tackle. But I’m here to tell you, it’s not as scary as it seems. Follow along and I’ll show you step-by-step, just how to do it.

Step 1: Prime the Lid

Do you struggle with your eyeshadows lasting all day long? Chances are you aren't using an eyeshadow primer. 

This step is crucial, not only in helping your eyeshadow to last all day but also neutralized any unwanted redness or veins on the lid. This will also assist in getting the best color pay off out of your shadows.

For this step, I used MAC cosmetics Soft Ochre paint pot. I recommend starting with a small amount on the base of the lid and bringing whatever is leftover up to the brow bone. For best results use your fingers to warm/blend out the product.

Step 2: Begin to Build the Crease

Taking a fluffy brush dip into a warm mid-tone brown shadow and begin to work it into your crease and blend. 

Hooded lids: If you have disappearing or “hooded” lids like myself, you can bring your crease a little higher than normal. This opens up the eye a bit more. Often with this eye type, it is difficult to see the shadow once the eye is open so by adjusting where you want your crease can help to open up the eye.

Blending tip: Once you have applied your crease shadow, take a clean blending brush and begin to defuse the shadow by buffing the edges. Blend up and in, in order to maintain the shape you just created. These steps can take time so don't rush it. 

Step 3: Deepen the Crease

Using a slightly denser fluffy brush, take a deeper brown shadow and darken the crease. Apply the color in your crease (or slightly above) and blend. 

Alternate between adding additional dark brown and blending (with the brush you used previously for blending the lighter shadow from the previous step) until you achieve your desired darkness. 

Step 4: Highlight the Brow Bone 

Using a clean brush apply a light vanilla shadow to the brow bone. This shade can be used to help brighten things up if you got a little too crazy with the crease shades. 

By applying the color and blending down, you can help clean up any parts that got a little too dark for your liking.

After doing so you can grab that same crease blending brush to diffuse where the two shadows meet. 

Step 5: Cut the Crease

This is where things really come together. Take a small, clean, flat brush and dip it in either a cream concealer or a bit more of the eyeshadow primer. I prefer concealer as it is easier to work with. As it has a creamier consistency it doesn't skip when dragging across the eyelid.

Tip: Apply a bit of the concealer to the base of the eyelid to start, then open your eye and close it so that the concealer transfers to the lid. This will show you how high to bring the concealer. 

Start small and work your way bigger until you get your desired lid shape/size. Once finished tap your finger across the lid to blend and soften the product so it isn’t too thick.

Step 6: Fill in the Lid

On this step, I got a little fancy and applied two different tones on the lid. This can be left up to your discretion but I found that I needed the brighter gold on the inner corner to give a brighter contrast between the crease and the eyelid. 

Using a flat dense brush (or your finger) and pack the pink pigment onto the lid. Should you need something brighter, as I did, you can use the same brush and apply a lighter gold to the inner half of the eyelid. 

After take what’s leftover on the brush and tap between the town shadows to blend.

Step 6: Deepen the Crease

Typically after one has applied the lid shadows, there is often a bit of sparkly fall out that can muddy the nice crease we have created.

For that, you may want to go in with one of the blending brushes you used for the crease and sweep it along where the shimmer and matte shadows meet. 

Then dipping into the dark brown shadow with a denser brush, darken the outer corner and blend. 

Step 7: Line the Lid

A winged liner can be a challenge even for the most practiced makeup artist. So I’ve broken this down into smaller steps so that it might be easier to follow visually. 

Now before we get into this I will say that having the right liner is key. You’ll want something with a fine tip and something that is very black and doesn’t dry out easily. For this many choose a gel or liquid liner. 

I went for the Physicians Formula Ultra Black long-wearing liquid liner. 

I like to start my liner with the wing itself. 

First I create a small flick at the corner of the eye, almost like I’m elongating my lower lash line. Then, I create a triangle by connecting that line back to the lid again.

Next, slowly line the lid and fill in the triangle. If you struggle with the wing, don’t fret! That’s what q-tips are made for. Just start small, it's easier to add than to take away.

After creating a wing you are comfortable with, it’s nice to take a bit of the same dark brown shadow we used in the crease to soften the liner. This helps to tie the look together since we made everything else very smoked out.

I also like to take a waterproof black pencil in the upper waterline. This helps to blend the false lashes in a later step as well as thicken up the appearance of the lash line.

Step 9: Define the Lower Lashline

Using a soft brown pencil, line the lower lash line making sure to leave space in the inner corner. The little V shape we leave open will help to open up and brighten the eye up since the majority of it is quite dark. 

After lining, take a clean brush to soften. You can also use the same brown shadows you used on the lid to blend the liner and connect it to the rest of the eye.

Step 10: Highlight the Inner Corner

Taking a bright gold and a small brush, fill in the open space on the inner corner of the eye/tear duct area. Once done add a bit of brown liner to the waterline.

Step 11: Lashes!

I chose to stack two different sets of lashes to get a LOT of drama out of this look. Of course, this is going a little overboard, but I found the combo more comfortable than most dramatic lashes as the band can be SUPER thick. 

But if you’re willing to spend a little more there are well made dramatic lashes out there for $36.00 and up. I was able to create a similar look for $20.

Step 11: The Finished Look

Don’t forget to take a step back and see that you are looking even and blended! Expect to spend a little more time on a look like this, give yourself and little R & R one day and practice. 

Besides, half the fun is enjoying that time you get to yourself to feel beautiful. Good luck ladies!

Alex, who is a serious bookworm admired that not only did this hotel host the first Shakespeare’s Hamlet in New York but also often hosted the famed Edgar Allen Poe.

Tzipora Sakin’s creativity helped to make the affair a success– from creating the invitation suite, contacting and booking all vendors, corralling all the family members, and assembling florals the morning of the wedding, it was basically a one-stop-shop!

The bride is not only a trained architectural designer but has a very old-world glamorous style in everything she does. Designer Isabelle Armstrong creates the perfect mix of vintage glam and architectural structure in her designs… Alone on a random lunch break, the bride stepped into Moda Operandi’s bridal collection in NYC’s Upper East Side and was immediately obsessed with her future dress.

The wedding was pure perfection other than the one person we regret couldn't make it –Bella Issacson, the 93-year-old grandmother of the groom, currently living in Jerusalem. Nevertheless, as an Architect-Attorney duo, the two are wacky, goofy, and unbelievably genuine. Any questions—- just ask!”

Winding staircase leading to which provides a picturesque for couples on their walk to the wedding hall, with all authentic and well preserved wooden doors and banisters, what's not to love!

The copper arch in its natural unpainted state, the wooden cake tray and industrial-looking metal stand, copper cake stand and the greenery draw your eyes to the focal point. Industrial string lights complement the design and the blush voile softens the look.

Step 1: Apply Eyeshadow Base

Starting with a clean lid. Take your preferred eyeshadow base and apply it from the base of the lid working your way up towards the brow bone. Be sure to use less product as you are working your way up so there is less as you move towards the brow bone. 

After, use your finger to spread and disperse evenly. I used Makeup Forever Step 1 base for eyes and lips.

Step 2: Apply Base Shadow

Using a semi-flat, fluffy brush: Take the light grey shadow and apply it starting at the brow bone and apply it all over the whole eyelid. This will help to set the base and ensure that your other shadows will blend without sticking or skipping on the base. 

I used “Silver fog” from the MAC x 9 Navy palette (shadow 2 see image).

Step 3: Apply Pencil Liner 

Using a soft kohl pencil apply black liner all along the lid. Quickly use a small soft brush to blend and smudge. Continue to alternate pencil and brush until you have your desired amount of smokiness. 

Its okay if things look a little messy at this point – we will clean things up in later steps. I used the Urban Decay 24/7 glide on pencil in perversion.

Step 4: Smoke it Out

Using a soft shimmery black/grey shadow soften the liner and begin to work it into the outer corner. Then take a fluffy brush to soften and blend.

You can use a slightly lighter grey to assist in the blending process. (Shadow 3 from image)

Step 5: Define the Crease

Using that same black or grey toned shadow (3 or 4 from image), take a dense flat brush and continue to smoke out the liner and define the crease. Swap for a fluffy blending brush to soften the edges. 

Tip: Try to blend in the same shape as you apply your shadows and tap the edges with a clean fluffy brush for best results in blending.

Step 6: Cut the Crease

Using a cream concealer and a flat brush cut out and define the lid. This is to give the next step (loose shadow) something to stick to. 

After applying the concealer quickly use your finger to even out the product on your lid. I made sure to soften the product enough that there was no harsh line between the crease and eyelid. 

Step 7: Add Lid Shimmer

Using a flat eyeshadow brush dip into your chosen shimmery shadow and pack it all over of the lid avoiding the crease. After dip back into a black shadow and blend where the silver and black shadows meet in the outer crease. 

I used the Makeup Forever HD concealer in the lightest shade.

Tip: If you choose to use a pressed shadow for this step you can also spritz your loaded up shadow brush with some setting spray to give it an extra pop.

Step 8: Tightlining

This step is often the scariest part, but makes the biggest impact! Using a soft, waterproof pencil, gently apply liner to your upper lash line. 

This will help to mask the flash lashes at a later step (It will also help to thicken the appearance of your lash line for those who chose to go lash-free).

Tip: The most difficult part is applying this on yourself, so take your time. 

Tightlining Tips

I personally like to use a mirror on a stand that I can tilt up toward my face, that sits on my makeup desk. This frees up my hands to gently pull up the eyelid while giving me the ability to see what I’m doing. 

Having a soft and pigmented pencil also helps in this step as the easier and faster it applies, the less likely you to spend more time potentially poking yourself in the eye.

That being said please be careful. We are working with a sensitive area here so if you do not feel comfortable, please skip this step.

Step 9: Define the Lower Lash Line

Using that same soft pencil connect the lower lash line in the outer corner and blend. Use a little of that grey shadow from earlier to assist in the process. 

Remember: Start small and work in more product as you go so as not to overdo it.

Step 10: Highlight & Define

Using a silver shimmery show (loose or pencil) highlight the inner corner of the eye to draw in light. 

After that throw on a little black liner in the waterline to tie the whole thing together.

Step 11: Throw on Some Lashes

Throw on a sultry pair of lashes and don’t forget to add a little liner after to help mask the band of the eyelashes.

Step 12: Curl & Apply Mascara

This will help to really blend your natural lashes with the falsies. 

Using your preferred lash curler, curl your natural lashes together with the false ones, be sure to do so after the lashes are secure and dry. Then apply a small amount of mascara to blend the lashes together. 

Don’t forget the bottom lashes!

That’s it!

Don’t forget to check your work and make sure both eyes are even. 

I personally like to give myself a little time to do hair or something else, and then come back to ensure a lash hasn't popped off a bit in the corner. This way you can have the opportunity to make sure everything stays secure and lasts all day (or night) long.

“Ruben and Fernanda first met when they were children in the same neighbourhood in Sao Paulo in Brazil and use to play together as kids. They have grown up as sweet-heart-kids until their college years when their studies temporarily took them apart. Fernanda met Ruben again few years later during a fashion show of the Maison for which he works and since then they never lived apart.

Fernanda and Ruben’s love story caught us totally unprepared: Ruben contacted our team when they arrived in Italy asking us to organize a special evening for him and his partner during which he would propose to her.

We immediately embraced his request and our first commitment was to find the most suitable location for the type of evening that Ruben had in mind. Ruben provided us with just few but very precise details: a romantic evening, with a shabby-chic setting (Fernanda's favorite style) and a panoramic view as a backdrop.

We chose a private terrace with a breath-taking view of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, terracotta columns and a lush green lawn as a carpet. The table set with colored glasses and blown glass plates, decorative compositions made with brightly colored flowers, a sofa set up with colored draperies in the nearby corner: all these elements gave a touch of eccentricity to the whole setting.

And so, at the end of a long day spent around the Tuscany coast, Ruben drove Fernanda back to Pisa with the excuse of having dinner in a quiet restaurant in the city. When they arrived on the panoramic terrace, the surprise was great for both of them. No detail was left out including the surprise of a beautiful long dress, in shabby-chic style, chosen by Ruben for Fernanda that she wore for the evening. Fernanda's emotion in seeing Ruben kneel cannot be described in words, as well as his excitement when she replied “Yes, I do”.

Their emotion was so intense that it could almost be touched.”

“Kurt and Heather's fun and colorful autumn wedding was a destination wedding as they are from Boston and they got married at a quaint and rustic venue in the beautiful fields of Deer Park, Washington. These two are the absolute sweetest and have been together for years before tying the knot so it was especially meaningful to be apart of their big day.

One of my favorite parts about their wedding is that they included some of the most unique details that I hadn't seen done before. Kurt had each of his groomsmen dress in different tweed suits and colors and I was blown away by how well they pulled it off. So impressive! The wedding party also brought a parachute for fun group photos which made for super colorful and fun photos.

Heather and Kurt's ceremony was short and sweet but full of laughter and happy tears. The area was lined with bistro lights and the arbor was covered in vines and flowers.

For their cocktail hour and reception, they had many lawn games including corn hole, giant Jenga, and other board games. The atmosphere was full of celebration and excitement!

We ended their day with some stunning sunset portraits in the golden field 100 feet away from the venue which wrapped up the day perfectly.

My hope if this wedding inspires new and unique ideas for other brides and sheds a light on how awesome fall weddings can be!”

“I've known Samantha since we were both in diapers and we've been best friends ever since. Throughout high school and college she was so patient in waiting for the right guy. When I got the call saying she was seeing someone, I knew it had to be serious. When I found out who it was, I squealed with delight! I was delighted that my best friend had found a great guy, but also because I had already met him!

Turns out, the three of us are all from Quincy, Washington; and the last time I saw Gabe was when I was about five years old — right before they moved away. I’m sure he doesn’t remember me much since he was even younger at the time, but I know he comes from a great family. Nothing puts your heart at ease like knowing your best friend has chosen a great partner.

Fast forward to the day of the photo shoot. Gabe and I re-meet as adults, and he’s just as nice now as he was when we were younger. He and Samantha laughed easily, and their sense of adventure was contagious.

They actually suggested our shooting location after finding it while searching for places to cliff jump along the Columbia River. While the spot isn’t suitable for cliff jumping, it makes for a perfect photo backdrop! Unlike the nearby, but busier, overlook of the Vantage Bridge, we had the place to ourselves, and the smoke from nearby wildfires created the most amazing light.”

Event Bliss worked with the couple to make sure their wedding day ran flawlessly, and they also created all the floral magic for both the ceremony and the reception. Wait until you get a close up of that ceremony location. Event Bliss, OUTDID THEMSELVES! The brilliant, loud florals that were infused throughout the space and that eucalyptus garland against the white stone walls of the ceremony location, STOLE THE SHOW. [all the heart eyes!]

These two are so intentional, thoughtful and fun. I remember listening to Amanda as she was first to tell me about their plans for their wedding I could tell they had given so much thought to every detail. Amanda knew that she wanted every decor element to be very bright and fun as but she also wanted the many naturally beautiful elements of the space to be highlighted. Not because they cared about details and the way the space looked, but rather they wanted to create a setting where all of their friends and family could feel well loved and comfortable as they celebrated and dance the night away with them! I’d say they achieved their goal!”

“Living between Europe and Thailand, Anjani and Kurt wanted to relax and bring all of their out of town family and friends to get a beautiful experience under the palm trees. Choosing a dusty blue and pale pink pastel color palette, the Couple added an intimate vibe to the “open air chapel” on the beach not taking away from the natural beauty. Anjani looked in a delicate “True bride” gown, which perfectly fit the carefree, romantic feel of this barefoot beach Wedding, her bouquet was really a masterpiece: oversized, tropical, dusty. Everything was pretty stunning when she reached the altar and stand in front of her Groom under a cascade of pastel flowers and blush fabrics fluttering in the ocean breeze. Right after the Ceremony, all the Guests enjoyed the perfect time with a cocktail hour and funny lawn games at the Villa while the DJ played the music. Even the Sunset painted the sky into unforgettable pastel shaded perfectly matching with the inspiration theme! Tables were set with dusty blue fabric runners, pieces of natural wood, vintage brass candelabras and wonderful tropical floral centerpieces with protea flowers. A suspended arrangement with hanging light-bulbs played up the drama and romance of the Venue for a magical unforgettable evening.

”This Phuket wedding came after our London one, I thought I would be less nervous, but when I came down the aisle and saw that Kurt was in a complete mess of tears I was so moved and became so nervous, I nearly cried myself.Most of the morning was spent in anticipation, with one stark difference. We didn't have a planner for our London wedding, and the morning was incredibly stressful making sure everything happened as it needed! In Phuket, we had Ilaire, and I was so relaxed. We almost had nothing to do except sit back and relax!”
