A picturesque outdoor wedding in Orlando, FL

Rachael and Eric kept things simple and sweet for their May wedding at Paradise Cove in Orlando. With rustic touches in shades of pink and ivory, most of the décor was DIY by the bride and her friends! The result was a picturesque Florida wedding, complete with sand ceremony, beautifully captured by Kim Truelove Photography.

My special day was to be filled with love and family and memories to cherish forever. When I closed my eyes I saw an outdoor venue with beautiful sunsets, lake views, and a gazebo to be married under with flowers draping overhead.

Little did I know such a place could be found at Paradise Cove in Orlando. The venue provided all the things and the casual environment I wanted for my simple but elegant wedding. The outdoor pavilion with the soft lights after dark set the warm and inviting feeling for a time of celebration with what matters to me, family and friends. The ceremony was a reminder of the commitment we were making before God and our families and the calmness was enhanced by the lake in the background.

Having someone we love and respect to marry us was priceless. Jeff Pritchard, of Starke Lake Baptist Church in Ocoee, was the man for the job. Jeff has been a mentor and dear friend for most of my life and I knew he would make us feel at ease and comfortable as we took our vows. Jeff’s personal comments during the ceremony were touching and inspiring to all present.

Knowing I like to keep things simple I went to Pinterest for many of my decorating ideas. Here I found many helpful hints and decided I could do much of the decorating with the help of my friends and family. I liked the idea of a candy table where guests could fill a bag of goodies for a take-home gift. Mason jars with casual flower arrangements, lanterns providing a warm glow, and family pictures in window frames completed my decorations for the wedding. Our farewell was met with bubbles being blown our way by family and friends with warm wishes sent our way for the road of happiness we were setting out on together.

All in all, my special day, my wedding day, was all I envisioned it to be thanks to the love and support of all and I deeply thank them for their gift of love and prayers as Eric and I start our new life together with our wonderful children, Dawson and Payton. – Rachael
