A blush pink summer wedding in Galloway, NJ

Daphne and Michael's June wedding at The Smithville Inn was a romantic and sweet celebration with a touch of sparkle! They were married under gorgeous trees in a quaint little park, surrounded by their family and friends, and then headed to the Inn for an amazing reception that ended with ice cream and a sparkler exit. Hello Gorgeous Photography captured their day.

Mike and I knew we wanted to get married as close to our dating anniversary as we could. There’s nothing like our summers together, after all that’s when we fell in love. I have always dreamed about a typical Jersey shore wedding on the beach, barefoot with family and friends but never knew that there would be an even more perfect place to be wed. We chose to get married at The Smithville Inn in the historic town of Smithville in South Jersey because we wanted our wedding to be romantic with all the family and friends we wanted to celebrate with. We toured many different wedding venues after being engaged for almost 3 years and once we stood at the ceremony space in front of the lake in town with the new arch pergola and beautiful trees, we knew it was the right thing. We were able to capture an intimate garden/lake wedding and still able to have a beachy/coastal feel. How lucky were we, every day around our wedding weekend rained so hard and heavy, and we were praying for sun.

Suddenly, we found our wedding rehearsal to be catered at my father-in-law’s house with swimming in the pool the night before our wedding and on our wedding day, easy listening to John Mayer, Zac Brown Band, and Jack Johnson outside during our cocktail hour. We loved that everything was at the same venue. It was easy for us and easy for our guests who came from all over the country. Our ceremony was outside right before sundown and then big French doors opened to our cocktail hour, which was both indoor and outdoor, a great summer day for everyone to enjoy delicious food and drinks. After cocktail hour, guests walked upstairs to the big ballroom and dancing was not a problem for everyone. We had two big HD television screens playing pictures of us with friends and family and music videos all night. Every wedding party member came out to their own song as our reception started, and we had a great variety from country to rock to popular dance music. Mike loves football and the NY Giants and tossed the garter that was over a football to most of his single flag football teammates and single male guests. Did I mention we even had an ice cream bar? Our night ended with a fun sparkler exit with our wedding party. After saying our thanks and goodbyes to all of our guests, we will always remember that quiet cobblestone walk over the bridge, through the carousel, and back to our suite with the town’s lights reflecting on the lake. – Daphne
