An autumn engagement session in the French Quarter

Kate and Trevor’s adorable October engagement session with Photography by Erika Parker is on the colorful streets of New Orleans’ French Quarter!

Trevor and I met through a mutual friend when we were in high school. Under the bright lights of the football stadium, it was awkward, teenage love at first sight. We started dating but went our separate ways once Trevor began college at Mississippi State University in the fall of 2003. Trevor and I grew apart a little that year but then it was my turn to attend MSU in the fall of 2004. Random run-ins on campus and a few lunch dates here and there, we were able to keep in touch. We would mainly discuss our current love woes and offer each other advice. It was when Trevor was graduating in December of 2008 and I had just started graduate school in August of the same year, did we decide to give it another shot. We haven’t looked back since then. Trevor got a job in New Orleans, LA in April of 2009 and many miles were driven between there and Starkville, MS until August of 2010 when I completed my program. We were living apart but closer than ever. I found a job in New Orleans in December of 2010 and moved down. It has been a great journey and on November 16, 2011 Trevor proposed. I can’t wait to grow old together and be a cute, elderly couple holding hands walking down the streets of New Orleans. – Kate
