An elegant summer country club wedding in Central Valley, NY

Christie and Mike are from Brooklyn and were married in July in her hometown of Central Valley, New York. They had a lovely and elegant celebration in shades of peach and pink, including signature cocktails, an anniversary surprise for Christie's grandparents and transportation on a school bus – all captured by Isabelle Selby Photography!

We are the first to admit that planning a big wedding can be a lot of work, but when the big day came it was so amazing, absolutely joyful, and definitely worth it. On the wedding day, my bridesmaids and I had our hair and makeup done by Harmony Salon. (They were so good, I wish I could do that every day!) Later, Mike and his groomsmen met us at my mom's house, my childhood home, where Mike and I did our “first look” – I can't imagine waiting until the aisle to see him, that's just too long! Then we took a school bus with our bridal party to the venue – with a stop by their nearby horse farm for some really special pictures.

During the ceremony, Jack from The A Band played “Marry Me” by Train. It is a song I return to often, to remind myself of the lovely ceremony and the incredible vows we exchanged. After the ceremony we had the party of our lives! Falkirk Estate and Country Club was the perfect venue with beautiful views, top-notch service, and beyond delicious food. Once the party got started, the dance floor was full all night long! (Mike showed off his Michael Jackson moves more than a few times.) We considered our “guest book” to be the photobooth and it was a big hit! We actually made the chalkboard speech bubbles ourselves using some foam board and chalk paint, and we were glad they got so much use. There are some very silly photobooth shots that crack us up every time.

Our wedding day was July 5th, which was one day before Christie's maternal grandparents' 66th anniversary. Later in the evening we surprised them with a toast and their own cake. Then the band played “You Make Me Feel So Young.” They stunned everyone in the room as they twirled and glided across the floor. They really know how to dance! The best part of the day was just being surrounded by all of our favorite people in the world as we officially joined each other as husband and wife. The photos, by Isabelle Selby, are beautiful reminders of the happiest day of our lives and of all of the beautiful moments we shared. – Christie & Mike
